Humanity Ashamed: A minor raped by an 80 year old in UP

An 11-year-old girl was raped by an 80-year-old man in a village in the Marka police station area of Banda, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred on Monday when the minor girl went to the accused’s house to get milk, as she did every day. The accused caught hold of her when he saw that she was alone and raped her. The girl started screaming during the assault, and nearby people rushed to the spot. The accused fled when he saw them. The girl was handed over to her family, who immediately registered a complaint against the accused elderly man at the police station.

On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case under Section 376 of the POCSO Act and sent the girl for medical examination. The police have formed teams to search for the accused.
